“Kick ’em when they’re up, kick ’em when they’re down.”

Five Minute Friday….

the topic (Laundry)

All my laundry is done for this week.  My son has been sick, so I have been home and have been able to do the laundry through the week.  Thank God, my weekend is completely free to not do laundry.  But, I’ve seemed to be doing another type of laundry this week.  It’s been a spiritual type of laundry.  I’ve had people come to me with their dirty laundry.  Their laundry has some stains, some rips, some tears, or just is filthy.  I’ve tried to help wash the dirt off, advice them on how to repair it, tell them the best detergent to use, and try to redirect them to the Professional.  The thing is God knows all our dirty laundry.  He even sees stains and rips that we don’t even notice.  As the body of Christ, we are supposed to go to friends and encourage and lift each other up.  But, we can’t remove the stains, clean the filth, or repair any damage.  We can temporarily mend it, but God is the one who does a continual washing.  He is the only stain remover we need.  He is the best tailor for a broken heart.  So, in closing let God clothe you with the pureness and cleanliness of Him.  Bathe in his presence, show him your stains, and let him repair you.  Don’t depend on people to do it when you know the expert.

What a beautiful reminder, especially this: “God is the one who does the continual washing.” Yes, I’m so thankful that he doesn’t leave us stained and broken. But continually washes as white as snow. Thanks for sharing your heart! Visiting from FMF. Blessings, Becky

That spiritual laundry can pile up just like that dirty underwear in my laundry room. So glad we have a Savior who cleans our hearts. Blessings to you!
